Moving Sand/Topos

Audiovisueller Essay mit Live-Performance

Audiovisual Essay with Live-Performance
Direction and Production: Floros Floridis and Jeanine Meerapfel

The production Moving Sand/ Topos, is an audiovisual essay that combines film, music, dance and text. It pinpoints the changes and consequences that result from the ever increasing use of artificial intelligence – how it impacts our lives and our relationship with the world. Artificial intelligence has a radical effect on nearly all areas of human life. The audiovisual essay is inspired by these changes that affect our perception of “topos” in its various levels of meaning. Moving Sand / Topos uses diverse artistic media to explore various narrative forms, their boundaries, and where they overlap or diverge. Through the combination of film imagery with live-improvised music, dance and documentary text components, the essay associatively points out how digital mania and technology colonize human existence and fundamentally influence the balance between psychological, cognitive and biological aspects of life. The concept for Moving Sand / Topos was developed by musician and composer Floros Floridis.
